Catia / SolidWorks
Before coming to IUT I’d never used SolidWorks, but I already had some knowledge thanks to Fusion 360.
On SolidWorks, I learned how to do volume modeling, create and parameterize assemblies, use the sheet metal and cable routing tools. And of course, I know how to create drawings, routings and phase contracts.
CREO Parametric
CREO, formerly Pro/ENGINEER, is a solid, parametric CAD modeling software. I learned to use it during a 2-week fixed-term contract at Intech. I exclusively used the sheet metal tool, made drawings and exports (STL, DXF and PDF).
Fusion 360
The first software I mastered for my personal projects (3D printing). Thanks to this software, I was able to learn the basics of modeling, such as the importance of constraints in a sketch, the order of modeling, making revolution parts and many other notions.
TopSolid
TopSolid is the world leader in CAM software. Software used to mediate between CAD and the numerically controlled machine. I’ve learned how to make parts with different machines such as milling machines and numerical lathes. This software is very powerful for producing all types of parts.
ROBOGUIDE
ROBOGUIDE is a robot control simulation software from FANUC. I learned to use it during the second semester of my first year at BUT. I discovered the different types of robots and their functionalities, learned how to control them, configure them and make them communicate to repeat a sequence of actions. I was also able to use the robots in our workshop and discover the use of the “teach pendant” which is the physical controller of the robots.
I learned to use Python in high school with the NSI specialization, which I kept for a year. During my second year at BUT I took the SNRV course, which allowed me to get back into programming. I was able to apply my skills and develop them further.
I’ve produced a program that solves a static problem with a single reference point. And I’m currently working on a project combining Python and robotics.
I’ve learned to use a number of Office suite programs, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Excel is a major program, which I use very regularly in my projects, whether to make calculations, graphical representations or to organize a project.
Word is used for reports, such as end-of-project reports, or for our dissertations. For example, we have produced a set of specifications.
Finally, PowerPoint is very useful for our various oral presentations and poster designs.
I started using WordPress in terminal to create a blog on which I posted my 3D printing projects. I’m talking about this site, which is now also used to showcase the professional skills I’m learning through my IUT studies.
I’m still learning to use WordPress, which is a very good software for making free websites. However, I’d like to code a site to learn how HTML and CSV work.
My soft skills
I like working as part of a team, I’m very open to communication.
I like to set myself challenges and carry them out to the best of my ability. I learn a lot on my own.
I’m a very curious person, always on the lookout for new knowledge. I like to understand my surroundings.
